Download / Install Maya

  • Go to students.autodesk.com
  • Click on the "Get Products" button at the top
  • Click on the blue "Get Started" button.
  • Sign in if you have an account or click "create account" if you don't.
  • If you are creating a new account use your UNM credentials and follow the activation prompts with unm email and other properties to finalize it.
  • Once the sign-in or sign-up process is complete you should be taken back to the products page.
  • In the search box type "Maya" or scroll down to Maya and click "Get Product"
  • Set the dropdowns to the following
    • Maya 2023
    • Your Operating System (Windows or Mac OS X)
    • English
  • Don't forget to hit the download button.
  • Once the software is downloaded... install the software by double clicking on the installer and working through the prompts

  • Agree to the terms and conditions
  • Choose where to install on your computer. Default is probably fine
  • Make sure all components are checked (Arnold, Bifrost, etc.)
  • Click Install
  • Once installed, Click Start
  • A prompt will show asking you to select:
    • Single User, multiuser
  • Select single user
  • Sign in with your unm autodesk account
  • If you are prompted for a serial number you are going to need to retrieve it
  • to find your serial number if you don't already have it do this:
    • goto https://manage.autodesk.com/
    • Log in with your UNM account you created previously on that site.
    • click “All products and services” on the left sidebar
    • DO NOT CLICK ON THE MAYA ENTRY AT THE TOP IF YOU SEE IT.
    • Scroll down (if need be) and click on Maya.
    • You may need to do activation of license. If you do, do that.
    • Your serial number and product number should then be displayed.

Adobe Creative Cloud

Occasionally throughout the semester you may need to utilize video editing or compositing software to compile a frame-sequence or change the compression format or settings for your animations. As a student of UNM you now have access to the full adobe creative cloud suite free of charge. THIS IS AMAZING!
